Table Tennis
What is Table Tennis?
Table tennis, also called ping pong, is a fast indoor sport played on a small table with a net in the middle 🏓. Two or four players hit a light plastic ball back and forth using paddles, trying to land it on the other side. It’s easy to learn, quick to play, and exciting to watch.
Playing table tennis is great exercise without needing much space or expensive gear 💪. It sharpens reflexes, balance, and focus while being gentle on your joints. You can play casually with friends, join school clubs, or compete in tournaments, so there’s always a new challenge.
How to play Table Tennis?
- Basics: A table tennis game is played to 11 points. You score when your rival misses or hits off the table. Switch serve every two points. Focus on control, then add speed as you improve 🏓.
- Grip and stance: Hold the paddle like a handshake with a relaxed wrist. Stand side-on to the table, feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, ready to move for every ball.
- Basic rally: Serve by tossing the ball from an open palm and hitting it so it bounces once on your side, then over the net. After the return, aim for the corners using smooth, controlled swings.
- Improve skills: Practice 10-15 minutes a day, trying to keep long rallies going. Alternate forehand and backhand, vary height and spin, and play stronger players to learn quicker and stay motivated.
